Yei River County Agriculture Assistant Commissioner appealed to the Central Equatoria Credit and Cooperative Savings Bank to help farmers with loans to increase productivity.
Edmond Taban Gogo explained that the Bank should go to the ground and do feasibility studies, Easter Radio reported.
He added that there were many registered farming groups in need of support in terms of loans and farm implements.
The Assistant Commissioner disclosed plans to have quality and quantitative production, lobby support from the government and build farmers’ capacity.
He added that one of the plans was to improve farmers marketing system through the Cooperative Department.
Rural farmers started early crop plantation, calling for support by availing tractors to boost food production.
