Yei River County recorded sixteen rape cases from January to March this year.
Police Gender Desk Officer Martina Peter revealed that rape cases were the highest in the County, Easter Radio reported.
She said a child of less than two years was raped and her case was still not tried, saying rape cases were also reported high in Mugwo Payam last year.
The Officer urged parents to take proper care of their children and ensure that women rights violations are reported to the police.
She called for the implementation of laws advocating and protecting women and girls’ rights at all levels.
The Officer who spoke during the commemoration of the International Women’s Day in Otogo Payam called for trial of violators.
