MP urges IGAD to support women call for peace, security

Central Equatoria Member of Parliament representing Yei River County urged the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development or IGAD to support women’s efforts to peace and security in the country.
 
Esther Sadia called on IGAD to include women cry for peace because they were fed up of war, Easter Radio reported.
 
She said many women who neither belonged to the government nor SPLM/A in opposition were killed innocently.
 
MP Sadia asked IGAD members to ensure that both the government and the opposition resort to dialogue and reach peace agreement.
 
She emphasized that women need peace at all cost despite disagreement between the warring parties on the agenda.
 
The MP spoke during the International Women’s Day celebration in Otogo Payam of Yei River County.
