Ngauro attacks killed 17 people, wounded 9 others

Eastern Equatoria Parliamentary committee informed last week to investigate recent Ngauro attacks reported that 17 people were killed and eight others wounded.
 
Presenting the report, MP Alphonse Chacha said the death figures and the wounded included Toposa and Didinga in separate attacks, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He said 220 houses including shops were burnt in the Ngauro conflict.
 
The Parliament recommended the government to deploy armed forces to the area to prevent future clashes.
 
It also recommended the government to organize peace conference to harmonize the two communities.
 
Governor Louis Lobong Lojore on Tuesday headed a state team to Ngauro to assess impacts and root causes of the attacks.
