Two American churches raised more than 17,000 US Dollar to dig and equip much-needed water wells in Yei town.

Pastor Joe Barber, who heads the fundraising initiative, explained that the project was named “Jacob’s Well” after a 12-year-old boy from the congregation gave the first donation of 20 US Dollar he received for his birthday.

Rev. Barber said with matching funds of 5,700 dollars from the Holston Conference the amount will help the churches to finance three water wells for Yei.

Kingsley and Hermon United Methodist churches have raised more than 17,000 US Dollar toward the purchase of water wells for the town.
