There is no big celebration for this year International Women’s Day in South Sudan because of the recent crisis which forced women out from their homes to camps.

Gender, Child and Social Welfare Ministry Undersecretary Esther Ikere Eluzai told the press on Thursday that South Sudanese women in camps are the target of 2014 International Women’s Day the celebration.

She said women leaders will visit their fellow women in camps to give them moral and material support.

Ms Ikere explained that towards the end of March representatives of her Ministry will visit women at Nimule, Awerial and Tuich camps to provide psychosocial help and encourage them to return to their home.

This year’s national theme is ‘women call for peace, security and development’.
