Wednesday night witnessed sporadic gunshots around Munuki, Bilpam and Juba Na Bari areas near the ministries.
Residents reported heavy and light sounds of gun shooting, posing panic and memories of mid December crisis in the city.
No information could be obtained from official sources what exactly was happening, but many speculate that it was related to Wednesday morning heavy shooting at military Jebel army barrack due to misunderstanding on salary payment among Special Commando Forces.
The situation got back to normal in the morning, with calm and traffic movements in most streets of the city.
An anonymous source said there was heavy gun shooting in Bentiu of Unity State in the early hours of Thursday, but that it was getting calm in the morning.
