The United Nations refugee agency or UNHCR on Tuesday called for immediate support to refugees from Central African Republic and South Sudan arriving in Chad, Cameroon and Ethiopia.
UNHCR spokesperson Melissa Fleming in a statement, appealed to partners and governments in those countries to speedily support the needy refugees.
The Official said in Ethiopia, their field staff saw refugees arriving in poor conditions due to lack of food in South Sudan and long distances walk to reach Pagak and Akobo border areas.
The spokesperson added that medical screening last week revealed that 27.7 percent of children were suffering from global acute malnutrition and 11.1 percent from severe acute malnutrition.
The crises in South Sudan and the Central African Republic caused one of the biggest refugees and IDPs Africa saw in recent years.
