Jur River mobilizes over 1,000 youths for army recruitment

Jur River County in Western Bahr El Ghazal mobilized more than one thousand new recruits’ to join the national army.
 
Commissioner John Arop Apai said they registered 1,237 youths in 17 areas and continue to mobilize in the remaining five areas, Voice of Hope reported.
 
He revealed a plan to open a training centre at Gette because it is close to the river for the recruits to easily access water while getting basic military skills.
 
State Assembly Speaker Andrea Mayar Acho appreciated the local chiefs and elders in the area for responding positively to the national call.
 
He said the youths’ positive turn up in Dakou area was revealing that the county was playing a historical role in the country.
 
The officials made the remarks while addressing a public rally on Sunday at Dakou area between Western and Northern Bahr El Ghazal States.
