Bishop says World Women Day not for politics

Yei Catholic Bishop on Sunday told the congregation at St Mary Chapel of Christ the King that the International Women Day for peace celebrated every year was not for exercising politics, but peace prayers.
 
Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe said politicians were taking the world women for peace to preach their politics to the people without respecting the day, Easter Radio reported.
 
He called on politicians to refrain from diverting the day to their own interests and that respecting women was important.
 
Bishop Lodu revealed that bishops of South Sudan and Sudan chose the 40 days of the lent to pray for peace in the country.
 
The Catholic Bishop thanked God for the good governance in Central, Eastern and Western Equatorial for strongly maintaining peace in the region.
 
He urged Christians to pray for peace because South Sudanese were tired of war in the country.
