Humanitarian aid agencies reported that their assessment in Pochala County of Jonglei State already shows a global acute malnutrition rate of 6.2 percent.
UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs or OCHA said partners are advocating for resources to support food production and livelihood systems for displaced and host communities to avert malnutrition, disease and destitution.
It added that the partners focused on prepositioning vital aid supplies ahead of the rainy season.
The Office said Crisis Response Plan was 21 percent funded to the tune of 748 million US Dollars of the 1.27 billion Dollars total requirement to assist 3.2 million people.
It said Malakal town of Upper Nile State was deserted amid reports of violations and abuses especially against girls and women.
