The head of the African Union Liaison Office in Juba said children deserve special attention at the end of any conflict, because they are most vulnerable to war.

Ambassador Nakaha Stanislas made this statement today at the launch of a quick impact project in El Saba Children Hospital in Juba while celebrating AU’s forty seventh anniversary and Africa Day.

Mr. Nakaha explained that children from conflict zones deserved both physical and psychological healing.

He said the AU is concern about any African child and intend to do more projects to improve childhood in south Sudan.

Mr. Nakaha added that the AU is committed to address conflict and crises situations in the continent.

On October 31, 2009, all African heads of state met in Tripoli, Libya, and declared 2010 the year of peace and security in the continent.
