Minyori Agency for Transformation and Development or MATD Gender officer urged South Sudan women to liberate the nation from all forms of violence.

Siama Joyce called on women to wake up and liberate the country from backwardness and perform a constructive activity, Easter Radio reported.

She encouraged women to participate in all sectors of nation building rather than shying away.

Ms Joyce argued that the 25 percent given to women was small, calling for promotion of girls’ education to achieve the affirmative action.

The gender desk officer said most women were discriminated against, assaulted on top of their rights.

Ms Joyce spoke on Tuesday after a preparatory meeting for the International Women’s Day to be celebrated on March 8 at Otogo payam.
