Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocesan Disaster Risk Reduction Program on Tuesday donated a set of sound systems to Ikpiro supportive group.

Program Manager Peter Saru Paul officially handed over a set of one Generator, one TV screen, two loud speakers, one DVD deck player and two microphones to the Ikpiro Committee Supportive Group chairman Moses Singbagbe, Anisa Radio reported.

Mr Saru said the diocese intends to build a resilient community to stand alone and live in peaceful coexistence, saying the sound systems would help communities in sending educative messages and get funds to improve their group.

He said they selected Ikpiro and Diatoro localities because many returnees are sheltered there together with the host community.

Committee Advisor Venasio Luka and a group member, Terezina Suwaya thanked Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese for all supports.

Disaster Risk Reduction Program Manager said last year they assisted about 12 thousand people in the two supportive groups with agricultural tools and seeds.
