Lakes State Governor on Thursday issued an order suspending four officials including Workers’ Union chairperson over allegations of teachers’ housing allowances.
Matur Chut Dhuol suspended Government Secretary General Martin Machiec Kuc, Director Generals in Public Service and Education ministries Abraham Makur Mangok, Kongor Deng Kongor and Chairman of Workers Union Kon Cadhor Dor, Good News Radio reported.
The Governor issued a second order appointing a three-member committee headed by Governor’s Advisor on Peace Ezekiel Thiong Mangar to investigate the teachers’ housing allowance allegations.
The committee is expected to summit a report and its findings to the Governor on March 03.
On Wednesday, teachers from various schools took to streets of Rumbek protesting alleged government refusal to pay their allowances.
