More than twenty SPLA soldiers both commissioned and non commissioned officers were charged of killing innocent civilians following the mid December crisis.

SPLA Spokesperson Colonel Philip Aguer Panyang told the press on Monday at the SPLA General Headquarters that said some soldiers were arrested but others were still hiding.

He said security organs are continuing to hunt for those still hiding.

Colonel Aguer explained that categories of crimes committed in Juba include robbery, theft intimidation and killing.

He said those who were arrested were between 70 and 100 people under different charges.

The spokesperson said investigations were advancing and that they would publicize their results and court procedures.

Colonel Aguer said the SPLA were ready to protect civilians and repulse the opposition led by Riek Machar Teny.

He denied the SPLA using cluster bombs.
