Kajo-Keji County Commissioner said an angry gang of disco dancers burnt Wudu Town Police Station.
Henry Kala Sabuni told CRN on Saturday in a telephone interview that a group of dancers took the law into their hands and burnt a police station in defiance of a local order banning disco dances in week days.
He vowed to pursue the culprits without any compromise to face justice.
The angry commissioner said what happened was a rebellion against the government.
He wondered why the youths took the decision instead of seeking dialogue with authorities.
Commissioner Kala explained that the local order was an attempt to save the young generation from getting spoilt and becoming worthless.
He insisted that the order would remain operational for the sake of preparing useful generation for future leadership.
Juba Monitor journalist Lagu Joseph Jackson who visited the area said over 250 youths blocked Wudu-Löikor road at midnight as they burnt down eleven motorcycles, five bicycles and all documents in Wudu Police Station.
He added that a neighbour’s house was also reduced to ashes.
Sources said authorities were conniving to arrest disco hall managers in connection with the burning and violation of local orders banning disco dance and alcoholic drinking during week days.
