Rumbek town authorities sent 33 people to court for violating local orders banning selling local products along roads and behind shops in Malith Market.

Rumbek Town Council Market Organizing Committee deputy chairperson Khamis Chol Akhool on Saturday said people appeared before judges this week six in addition to 27 people heavily fined last year, Good News Radio reported.

He expressed Local Government concerned about lives of people selling goods on the roads due to traffic accidents.

Mr Chol said the government needs law and order respected not necessarily sending people to court to be fined every time.

He advised traders to keep the little profit they get for maintaining their families rather than paying for fine.

The deputy chairperson said the orders are effective until the government sees no people selling products along the roads or behind the shops.
