Western Bahr El Ghazal Local Government minister on Tuesday announced that the State Assembly approved creation of new payams.
John Urbano Denin told the press that his ministry approved the creation of new proposed Payams in Wau, Raja and Jur River Counties, Voice of Hope reported.
He explained that the ministry created fifteen new payams in Jur River and Raja and eleven Payams in Wau.
Mr Urbano clarified that the formation of new Payam aimed to improve basic services to communities.
Jur River Commissioner John Arop Apai said the payams were formed based on the population size and space.
Raja Commissioner Hassan Jalab said many people migrated from their place due to lack of basic services and that creation of new payams would help provide essential human needs.
Members of the parliament appreciated the approval, calling for more payams creation.
