Editors and journalists blamed international and social media including face book, twitter for escalating the mid December crisis.

Association for Media Development in South Sudan or AMDISS Chairperson Jacob Akol said editors and journalists testified that the social media implicated the mid December incidents in the country, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said editors and the journalists in South Sudan were surprised to receive mobile calls from outside the country informing them on what was happening.

Mr Akol added that the way the information was spread was not properly analyzed.

The Chairperson said the international media too failed to explain exactly what the incident was, but instead concluded that it was a tribal fight between Dinka and Nuer.

He said the Dinka and the Nuer along the West and East bank of the river were living peacefully in their villages.

Mr Akol said the meeting resolved to train many journalists and editors on conflicts prevention mechanism in the country.
