Fourteen fourth year students of University of Bahr El Ghazal or UBG Veterinary College started their first semester practical exams on disease diagnosis at Wau Veterinary Hospital on Monday.
UBG Veterinary College Dean Ambrose Samuel Jubara said the exams aimed to evaluate students’ capability on how to examine animals and prescribe medicines, Voice of Hope reported.
Dr Samuel said the College lacks sophisticated devices in its laboratories.
He added that it lacks English Veterinary textbooks in its library.
Dr Samuel revealed a plan to establish other laboratories, offices, demonstration farm and slaughter houses and skill development center for community outreach.
He cited lack of funds as the major challenge facing the colleges in particular and the University in general.
UBG Veterinary Dean said the College would abide by its academic calendar despite threatening political crisis in the country.
