Central Equatoria Governor Security Advisor urged ex-combatants and willing young persons to join the national army to defend the country.

Abraham Wani said the new recruits would undergo a light and short training with their salaries ready after completion, Easter Radio reported.

The Advisor said the soldiers would defend the Constitution and act as fire line for the people and the land of South Sudan.

Mr Wani said the recruitment would include educated people to become a “lead army” that would not be deceived.

He admitted the disunity in the army and that some soldiers were rejected permission to visit their relatives for sometimes.

The State Governor’s Advisor addressed the congregation at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei on Sunday.
