Western Bahr El Ghazal security organs arrested two people suspected of forging and exchanging fake Dollars into South Sudanese Pounds in Wau.
Wau Police Commissioner Major General Akot Deng Akot told the press on Friday that crimes were increasing in the state because many criminals left Juba due to mid December’s unrest, Voice of Hope reported.
He added that earlier security personnel arrested four suspects exchanging fake US Dollars.
Commissioner Deng said many of these criminals were trying to cheat the public with fake money but the government was serious to crack down and bring them to book.
The Commissioner said security force arrested six criminals and was ready to rid the state of criminals.
State Criminal Investigation Department CID Director Philip Madut Tong advised citizens to be careful while exchanging money.
Mr Madut expressed security readiness to continue hunting down people involved in forging money.
