Western Bahr el Ghazal Information Minister presented a policy statement to the State Legislative Assembly.
Derick Uya Alfred said their vision in the ministry was to spread information and communication for development, Voice of Hope reported.
Mr Uya explained that the policy focuses more at enhancing media sector to provide government information to citizens.
The minister pointed out that one of achievements of the ministry was training media personnel in various fields.
He appreciated the role of partners in building the capacity of state journalists.
The Minister cited major challenges facing the ministry including lack of operational costs for fuel, stationeries, transports and incentives for contributors.
He added that the ministry lacks office space and furniture, new equipment for radio and television.
The state minister revealed a plan to recruit new staff to different directorates.
He said the ministry was planning to increase radio and television broadcasting time from 8:00 AM to 12:00 mid night daily.
