Pneumonia major disease in Nuba Mountains

Pneumonia and respiratory infections are the major diseases affecting people in the Nuba Mountains during the dry season.
 
A Health Secretary in Nuba Mountains Joseph Stephanus told Voice of Peace that the rate of malaria infections reduced while Pneumonia and dry cough increased.
 
He said children are more vulnerable to pneumonia than elders.
 
Mr Stephanous encouraged the parents to dress their children with heavy clothes and cover them well during night and morning hours.
 
He urged parents to stop bathing children in open places during evening hours, because cold air can increase pneumonia.
 
Mr Stephanus advised parents to wipe children well after bathing.
 
The health Secretary stressed that the office faces difficulties to improve health conditions in Nuba Mountains.
