The new Eastern Equatoria governor criticized divisions along tribal lines and corrupt tendencies saying these practices retard development in the state.
Louis Lobong Lojore said initial development, delivery of social services and successful referendum in the state for total freedom of south Sudan need secure and peaceful co-existence of the people in eastern Equatoria.Mr. Lobong vowed to eliminate corruption during his term of office because the practice discourages development.
The new governor told his minsters that they will be accountable to the people.
Mr. Lobong made these statements yesterday delivering after taking an oath of allegiance as the new Governor of Eastern Equatoria state.
Mr. Lobong took over the state executive position from his predecessor, Johnson Juma Okot, who was caretaking after former governor Emor Aloisio Ojetuk decided to run for the office as independent.
