200 police officers 18 women graduated on Saturday after six months training in Torit, Eastern Equatoria State.
The State Commissioner of Police Major General Henry Danima Odu said the officers completed all courses in law, ethics, discipline and self defence, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He told citizens that the force was equipped with military skills and would handle criminal cases.
State Minister for Local Government and Law Enforcement Charles Lokonoi revealed plans to deploy police to Nimule, Nadapal, Lauro, Ngomoromo and Tseretenya.
The minister advised the new police to show good reputation of the state.
Torit Catholic Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha blessed the ceremony.
