Bishop of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan and Sudan appealed for forgiveness and unity in Yambio diocese.

Bishop Peter Munde Yacob promised to work for unity, peace and forgiveness among the Christian community, Anisa Radio reported.

‘What happened in the past is passed, we have to reconcile and be brothers and sisters to serve the Lord accordingly’, he said.

Bishop Munde advised Christians to fast and pray for peace in the country.

He warned Yambio faithful against spreading rumours.

The Bishop announced that Yambio will on January 18 hold its first general meeting, prayers and fasting at Timbiro All Saints Cathedral with all the pastors and other church members.

Last year ECSSS Archbishop Daniel Deng Bul sent Bishop Munde for a one-year holiday to Kampala, Uganda and appointed a caretaker to run the diocese and settle some problems affecting the diocese.

Bishop Munde returned home on Thursday.
