Archbishop Paolino Lukudu Loro in his homily during the prayers for peace on Thursday at St Theresa’s Cathedral Kator in Juba called onChristians to win the hardship with faith in Jesus Christ, Bakhita Radio reported.

He said Pope Francis’ message for peace at the beginning of the year was relevant to the situation of South Sudan.

Archbishop Lukudu said the archdiocese chose to pray for peace in the country because the conflict was escalating.

The Archbishop quoted the passage of the Bible where after Cain killed his brother Abel, God asked him ‘where is your brother?’ and Cain replied
‘I don’t know and God told him the blood of your brother is crying to me.”

The Catholic prelate said many people died in the last three weeks of conflict and the question became applicable to all South Sudanese.

He said all people killing themselves are brothers and sisters of one God.

Archbishop Lukudu called on South Sudanese to seek for God’s forgiveness.
