Western Bahr El Ghazal Finance minister on Wednesday presented the Revenue Authority Bill to the Assembly for deliberation.
Lillian Valentino Rizik described the Bill as a great step towards sustainable development in the state, Voice of Hope reported.
She urged the state government to focus more on revenue collection to implement its strategic plan.
Ms Valentino said the Bill was to increase revenue collection, guide collecting staff and determine line ministries’ contribution to the state budget.
The minister added that the Bill would establish an independent body to manage the revenues.
The bill was referred to the Special Committee for scrutiny and second reading within one week.
