Auxiliary Bishop of Juba Archdiocese urged South Sudanese to avoid violence in the country.

Bishop Santo Loku Pio said violence was not necessary as all are brothers and sisters entrusted by God to help each other, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He described the current crisis as ‘senseless war’ created out of greed and malice with the aim of destroying the country.

Bishop Loku said there was no reason to justify the current violence in the country because citizens were killing each other.

He appealed to leaders in the country to stop fighting, forgive one another and reconcile to pave a way for development.

Bishop Loku warned against violent means of seeking power, saying leadership should be obtained through democracy.

The auxiliary Bishop appreciated people of Eastern Equatoria for maintaining peace amidst violence in other parts of the country.

He advised Eastern Equatoria citizens not to entertain war mongers and people spreading rumours of war.
