The newly elected Eastern Equatoria state deputy speaker urged members of the assembly to forget passed differences and forgive each other to achieve peaceful deliberations on state affairs.

Paul Napwon made the call yesterday after he was elected and instituted as deputy speaker.

Mr. Napwon said that there are many challenges ahead that require harmonious coexistence among state legislators without discrimination against political affiliations and seniority in office in preparation for the final liberation of South Sudan by 2011.

The deputy-speaker warned of recurring past mistakes with the Assembly impeaching the state governor.

Mr. Napwon said such incidences are detrimental to development.

The new deputy speaker expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state in that office.
