Community Empowerment for Progress or CEPO warned the warring parties against trading on the current hostilities over leadership on ethnic lines for personal gain.

CEPO discussed citizens’ opinions on the roadmap for peace and stability after the alleged coup attempt headed by the formers Vice President Riek Macha and concluded that the current political crisis took ethnic dimensions because some South Sudanese pay allegiance to ethnicity more than the nation and citizenship.

The organization called on the political leaders to use the diversity for building one nation of united ethnic groups.

Community Empowerment for Progress also called for unity to build a better future for South Sudan.

It clarified that working for democracy was expensive requiring patience, tolerance and compromise.
