St John Chapel of Kumo Fog under Gidel Catholic Parish in Nuba Mountains celebrated Christmas on Friday.
39 children were baptized during the Eucharistic celebration, Voice of Peace reported.
Gidel Parish Priest Francis Angela told the congregation that St John was the youngest Apostle chosen by Jesus who respect elders.
He asked Christians to imitated St John the Apostle and be closer to Jesus.
Fr Angela added that St John respected St Peter and allowed him first to enter the tomb of Jesus.
He advised the faithful to do the same by respecting their elders.
The Parish Priest said St John was one of the writers who committed to preach the word of God.
Hundreds of Christians attended Christmas celebrations with traditional dances.
