Eastern Equatoria Governor said the events in Juba and other places in the country should not threaten people, but they should refrain from too much consumption of alcohol during the Christmas season.
Louis Lobong Lojore noted that too much drinking of alcohol was another threat in the state, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The Governor cited two boys who attacked police officers after they were arrested over reckless motor riding under the influence of alcohol.
Governor Lobong advised citizens not to give police officers alcohol while on duty.
He said police officers would misbehave if they get drunk.
Governor Lobong made the remarks on Christmas Day at Our Lady of Assumption Church.
