Health official calls for children prevention against malaria

Caritas Torit Acting Health Coordinator called for prevention of children under five years old against malaria during the Christmas season.
 
Margaret Pacho told mothers to sleep under mosquito-nets and clean the environment to prevent mosquitoes breeding, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
Ms Pacho said a great number of malaria cases were recorded in Magwi, Ikwoto and Kapoeta East Counties.
 
She said community-based distributor treated 55 thousand malaria cases in the three counties this year.
 
Ms Pacho attributed the low rate of malaria cases to increase of supervision by the community-based distributor of malaria drugs in rural areas.
 
She acknowledged people response to malaria treatment.
 
Caritas Torit implements Global Fund Health project in Ikwoto, Magwi and Kapoeta East Counties of Eastern Equatoria state.
