Yei Catholic Bishop said the crisis that hit Juba and other parts of the country in the last few days was disagreement between the SPLM party members due to power struggle that claimed many lives and caused misery.

Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe lamented that it was unfortunate that some people with little understanding want to take the fighting to be tribal between Dinka and Nuer, Easter Radio reported.

He said it was untrue that the fighting was tribal, but was power struggle among some SPLM leaders discontented with the policy of the party.

Bishop Lodu appealed to leaders, elders and youths of Dinka and Nuer to calm down, talk to their communities not to understand the fighting as ethnical.

The Catholic prelate cautioned that if people continue confusing the situation of the fighting, the war would not end.

Bishop Lodu asked SPLM to put its house in order and appealed to the government to urgently resolve differences through dialogue.

The Bishop was speaking on Sunday at Christ the King Cathedral while presiding over the forth Advent Sunday Eucharistic celebration.
