The brave and mighty sons and daughters of South Sudan who sacrifices of lives in the liberation struggle for the freedom of the people should not die in vain.

This was the theme Eastern Equatoria state caretaker governor developed in his speech during the SPLA anniversary belated celebration yesterday at Freedom Square in Torit, Emmanuel Radio reported.

Johnson Juma Okot said although several liberators did not make to the end of the struggle, their contribution to South Sudan cannot be forgotten for they lost their lives for a good cause.

Mr. Okot recounted that what led to the 1983 revolution was the need for freedom of South Sudan that will be achieved by 2011 through the referendum.

The caretaker governor asserted that cowards with faint hearts failed to join the struggle while the brave continued amidst obstacles and persevered until they achieved their goal of liberating south Sudan.
