EE Governor meets religious, civil society organization leaders

Eastern Equatoria Governor on Friday met religious and civil society organizations leaders to focus on peace in the state.
 
Louis Lobong Lojore briefed the leaders on the causes of current security issue in the country and its effects on Eastern Equatoria, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He urged religious leaders to preach and talk about peace to the people of state.
 
Governor Lobong called on the leaders to create awareness among people; reject war and maintain peace, love and unity in the state.
 
Torit Catholic Diocese Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha urged the army to desist from violence.
 
He said the army should be responsible for security and lives of the people and avoid clashes as it happened in other parts of the country.
 
Monsignor Oliha prayed for peace and reconciliation among the people of South Sudan. 
 
The religious and civil society organization leaders agreed to pray for peace, love and unity among the people of Eastern Equatoria and the entire country.
