The bishop of Yei called on Catholic families to send their children to seminary schools, support their priests and pray for vocations.
Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe made this appeal yesterday evening during a thanksgiving mass at Yei Christ the King cathedral for his 40 years of priesthood, Easter Radio reported.Bishop Lodu told the Catholic community that they play a key role in the lives of priests through prayer and other means of support.
He thanked the community for their encouragement to priests.
Bishop Lodu urged Catholic families to encourage their sons and daughters to follow the priesthood and religious life to serve the Church.
He told seminarians to stand firm and follow the voices that urge them to continue instead of following those that ask them to leave and come home.
Bishop Lodu added that the priesthood faces many challenges but priests should focus on achievements instead.
