The United States deeply troubled by the recent fighting in South Sudan called on political leaders to refrain from any action to fuel the violence.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Deputy Department Spokesperson Marie Harf called on the parties to resolve political differences in peaceful and democratic means.

The diplomat said they safely and successfully evacuated three groups of US citizens from South Sudan.

The spokesperson urged US citizens to depart South Sudan and will arrange for additional transportation when demanded.
