Bishops of Yei Catholic diocese and Episcopal Presbyterian Church of Sudan or EPC on Thursday denounced tribal divisions among soldiers.
Erkulano Lodu Tombe told soldiers at Yei Army Barrack that some politicians who want conflict cause divisions among soldiers that would lead to loss of innocent lives, Easter Radio reported.
He advised the soldiers to love God and one another.
Bishop Lodu urged the army to avoid listening to confusing and conflicting leaders, but rather offer quality services to citizens.
EPC Elias Taban said there were South Sudan traitors who wanted to promote tribalism that would leave the country underdeveloped.
He said the country was blessed with various tribes that needed unity amongst them.
Bishop Elias encouraged the soldiers to be bold and avoid the engagements with those who wanted to confuse them in their service as one tribe of South Sudan.
He appealed to politicians to desist from politicizing tribes and soldiers because of power struggle.
The Bishops made their remarks while addressing the soldiers in an army barrack in Yei Municipality on Thursday.
