The Foreign ministry assured foreign diplomatic corps, United Nations and international organizations accredited to South Sudan of restored civil tranquility after the aborted coup by the former Vice President Riek Machar.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said domestic and international flights resumed.

It added that national and state government ministries were discharging duties normally, signaling improving security.

The statement said businesses in Juba were operating as usual.

It also assured citizens that security forces were in full control of the situation.

The statement cleared speculations that the violence was tribal and was to do with power ambitions of Dr Riek Machar and his allies now in detention.
