Priests and religious are strongly challenged by family issues and many priests, brothers and sisters are tempted to leave their vocation to find ways to solve family problems.

Bishop Erkolano Lodu Tombe of Yei celebrates today 40 years of ordination to the priesthood.

He told Radio Easter that the biggest temptation priests and consecrated women and men face is to leave active ministry, get a job and earn money to solve the problems their relatives face.

Bishop Lodu added that the position in society is another tempting challenge for priests.

The Bishop of Torit drew from his experience and encouraged priests and seminarians to renew their call every day.

Bishop Lodu said that they are tempted to follow different voices but he urged them to be faithful to the first call.

The bishop urged the Christian communities to pray for their priest, and support and encourage them to render a better service.

Bishop Lodu is celebrating his 40 years of service as a priest with a thanksgiving mass at Christ the King Cathedral in Yei.
