The Kakwa community on Saturday launched a book to help safe its cultures and language.
The author of the book Ndole Ndoromo told Bakhita Radio that the aim of the book was to enable Kakwa children to learn the wisdom in Kakwa cultures.
He said it took him ten years to assemble and autograph the writing of Kakwa language.
The writer said the book was targeting adults to teach their children.
Mr Ndoromo said the determination of writers and the community would help safe the language from dying.
He said children who grew in urban centres do not speak Kakwa language and if their parents pass away they would be left without background of their cultures.
Mr Ndoromo explained that he decided to record kakwa stories in CDs for adults and children to watch while at home and to benefit future generations.
The writer appealed to parents to encourage children to learn their language.
Mr Ndoromo said some copies would be sent to Yei while the rest would be sold in Juba.
He appealed to radio station to start broadcasting news in local languages so that communities benefit.
