Eastern Equatoria state people with disabilities called for an end to discrimination.
People with Disabilities representative MP Justine Lobuya said they still face challenges discrimination on the basis of lack of skills, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He said International Day of Persons with Disabilities aimed at recognizing contributions and rights of persons with disabilities.
MP Lobuya acknowledged the government and NGOs contributions in service provision to people with disabilities.
State Education Minister Lopuke who represented the state Governor called on citizens to support people with disabilities.
He noted that lack of vaccination during the liberation war caused a lot of disabilities.
The speakers made the remarks on Friday at Torit Freedom Square during the celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities under that theme ‘Break the barriers, open doors for inclusive society for all.’
