The Development Initiative or TDI, a demining group contracted by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS would explode two aircraft bombs dug underground in Yambio County of Western Equatoria State.
TDI Deputy Officer Zachariah Awuol Awet announced that they transported two bombs from Napere residential areas in Yambio to new airport site at Mumbai for explosion on Thursday, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the bombs were very huge and heavy about 250 kilograms each with powerful contents that could cause a big bang over long distance.
Mr Awet alerted citizens to stay away from Mumbai airport site on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
He asked citizens in Mumbai to get out of their homes over two kilometres away from the site.
Mr Awet appealed to the entire public not to panic because the bombs would make a very big bang.
He urged the entire public to report any place suspected with mines or aircraft bombs.
