Christ the King Parish Priest of Yei Catholic Diocese on Monday urged Christians to concentrate on spiritual other than material preparations for the coming birth of Christ.
Fr Tom Poru Martin said some Christians resort to material preparation including buying clothes, house mopping, drinking and committing evil things at the Christmas season.
He clarified that material preparation was not enough, but Christians should be spiritually clean by confessing their sins and forgiving one another.
Fr Poru said people who are against God’s gifts kill their fellow brothers and sisters, burn people’s houses, spoil girls or women, steal and rob even poor people.
He called on Christians to utilize the gifts that God gave to humankind in a good way.
The cleric said advent is a season that Christians prepare their hearts spiritually for the birth of Christ.
Fr Tom was speaking during the feast of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Monday at Christ the King Cathedral.
