A man killed his wife with a gun in Wau over alleged adultery and pregnancy outside marriage.

Former soldier Matar Karbino grabbed an AK47 gun from Lokloko Police Station and went home to shoot his wife with five bullets on Wednesday evening, Voice of Hope reported.

Wau Deputy Mayor Anthony Charles Ng-berendi said the suspect was under police custody.

He condemned the incident saying violence has never been a solution to problems.

Mr Charles advised his fellow men to be calm, cool and create dialogue to resolve issues in their marriage.

He paid his condolences to the family of the deceased woman calling on soldiers to have sense of responsibility toward their guns.

The Deputy Mayor attributed the incident to abuse of alcohol and negligence among armed forces together with short-tempered personality.

Ahmad Abdulrahman Bakhiet, who was suspected for having a love affair with the deceased, was reportedly under Police custody.
