The Ugandan army announced that it killed a top Lord’s Resistance Army or LAR commander in Central African Republic.

Colonel Samuel Kangu and 13 LRA rebels died last Thursday after they were ambushed by the Ugandan People’s Defence Forces.

USA military advisors tracked the LRA group and passed the information to the Ugandan military operating in CAR under the African Union’s Regional Task Force.

Uganda army spokesman Major Robert Ngabirano said Col Kangu was a logistician, a master planner and a senior commander very close to Joseph Kony, the LRA leader.
